I am a licensed clinical social worker and a founding member of the Island Institute for Trauma Recovery, a group practice in southern Maine specializing in working with complex traumatic stress . My passion for integrating clinical work and science continues to lead me into collaboration with neuroscientists in pursuit of a creating a shared understanding of suffering and healing. I work with individuals, couples, and families to support shifting beliefs that were once created as resources to survive and that now create barriers to emotional intimacy. In addition to my clinical work I am a part time faculty member of the School of Social Work at the University of Southern Maine where I developed and teach a trauma theory and practice class. As a TAT trainer I offer workshops and consultation.
